The Bank of Elk River The Bank of Elk River has just recently branched out to Zimmerman. The new 4,500-square-foot facility is located at 26319 Second St. E., Zimmerman. The Zimmerman branch offers full lending services (commercial, consumer, real estate and mortgage), three drive-up lanes, a drive-up ATM and safe deposit boxes. It is a full-service bank with every service you can get anywhere else, said President/CEO Jim Simpson. Several bank employees are Zimmerman residents and So it really has a local flavor. The Bank of Elk River goes back to 1885. It has a lot of customers in the Zimmerman area, estimating there are 2,400 deposit accounts and more than 700 loans from the community. It gathers and preserves historically significant materials and makes them available to the public through exhibits, library and school programs, and genealogy workshops. The Society also publishes a quarterly newsletter that presents articles of local interest. The Society's research library includes plat maps, public records, farmer directories, churches, family histories, and more than 5,000 photographs of local people and places.
